Hyperpigmentation around mouth – Best Effective Solutions

Hello welcome back to my skinsatin blog. Today I want to talk about an annoying problem especially for the women. I have a friend who has a long been disturbed by the hyperpigmentation around her lips. She said she felt like having a mustache all the time. I did’didn’t want to disturb her so I told her it was okay, but we must admit that it wasn’t very discreet and certainly very disturbing for her. Unfortunately for her even a concealer didn’t hide this problem.

I have to say I crossed a lot of skin problems especially with hyperpigmentation but i have never suffered from the problem that I’ll talk about today. But you know what? Hyperpigmentation around the lips or elsewhere on the body, it remains a problem that I know. So I remained in solidarity and we sought a solution together. The good news is that we have found several solutions that have finally solved her problem and that what I am going to talk you about today.

Hyperpigmentation around mouth – Why?

Hyperpigmentation around mouth may appear for several reasons:

1. The Sun:

If the reason is the sun, it doesn’t appear overnight, it takes years. Unfortunately when they appeared it’s very difficult to make them disappeared without treatment. It can still be overcome by several scrubs and lightening cream, because it’s just on the skin surface.

2. Melasma

These are dark spots that start to appear on the upper lip because of hormonal changes. These changes happen during adolescence, pregnancy or taking the contraceptive pills. When these hormones combine with the sun exposure hyperpigmentation around mouth appear. They are very easy to treat but can reappear.

3. Posflamatory Hyperpigmentation:

Dark skins can develop dark spot after a pimple or burn. Don’t worry! It returns to normal after three to six months. It takes longer because melanin is lodged deeper into the skin.

4. Saliva + Cold

When it’s cold outside some persons tend to moisturize with their tong the outline of the mouth and it can darken the skin because it becomes too wet.

Hyperpigmentation around mouth – Naturals Solutions

It’s always good to see a doctor to make sure that your hyperpigmentation around mouth has nothing to do with a health problem.

1. Lemon juice solution

– Mix the juice of 1/4 of a lemon with a tablespoon of yogurt or honey. Wet the face with warm water. Spread the mixture over the stain around the mouth. Let it dry and rinse gently with hot water.

– If you want a stronger treatment, put directly a half lemon juice over the stain around your mouth.

Make this treatment in the evening for avoid sun exposure

2. Aloe vera gel

– Spread aloe vera gel over the dark stain. It will moisturize your skin and help it to heal. Aloe vera is more effective on dark skin.

3. Turmeric mask

*Wholemeal flour

*Turmeric

*Lemon juice

*Honey

-In a bowl pour the ingredients in equal proportion (1 teaspoon each) and mix until having a compact paste.

-Spread this mixture over the skin around the mask and leave on 10 to 15 minutes.

-Rinse with warm water and dry with a clean towel.

-Repeat 2 to 3 times a week until you reach your result.

Hyperpigmentation around mouth – Medical Solutions

Dermatologist: Don’t hesitate to ask the help of a dermatologist who will give a treatment to follow. Even before trying natural solution don’t wait to see a doctor, this may be the beginning of a more serious skin problem.

1. Cream containing chemicals

The doctor will propose you a cream with chemicals inside. They often propose cream with hydroquinone which can be carcinogenic to humans. I wouldn’t accept it even from my doctor because of this problem. If I talk to you about it, it’s because a doctor will certainly propose it to you. It’s up to you to see if you accept it or not. I recognize that it’s a very effective substance. What you can do, as with a cream as strong you see results in a few days, as soon as you see the disappearance of the stain you can change for a cream without prescription which won’t have this controversial substance.

2. Laser treatment

It is the most effective treatment to treat the hyperpigmentation around mouth. But nothing is perfect, this treatment are not always permanent. It depends on the genetic, how you expose yourself to UV, your daily hygienic habits. And this treatment is much more expensive.

3. TCA peeling

I told you about it in another of my articles. It’s a pretty powerful peel with glycolic acid. Your dermatologist can offer it to you to treat your skin in depth. Keep in mind that as the laser treatment, this peel isn’t permanent. The effect will last longer if you stay away from the sun.

Hyperpigmentation around mouth – How to prevent ?

To prevent this hyperpigmentation it is good to:

– Remove makeup every night with a moisturizing milk

– The exfoliation favors the elimination of pigmented cells which will facilitate the penetration of a lightening cream

– Sunscreen, to avoid the appearance or aggravation of hyperpigmentation around mouth it is good to protect from the sun even in winter and of course in summer. A good sunscreen will limit the stimulation of melanin.

– Stop smoking, I know it’s a really hard decision but the cigarette dehydrates the skin which become dull and gray which favors the appearance of hyperpigmentation.

Conclusion

Good health of the body and skin is an everyday issue. Our skin condition can also reflect our overall health. Taking care of your skin isn’t always enough. Sometimes there are also habits to change to have good results. By the time I started to take care of my acneic skin, I realized that my nutrition habits and my lifestyle in general have something to do with it.

Behavioral changes are not easy to do, it takes a lot of willpower. So don’t be discourage and go step by step. In my opinion, it is only by slowly changing its habit and not brutally that we managed to do a lasting positive change. It’s like a diet, change everything at once is too violent. But for your skin eat healthy, drink more water than soda, stop smoking, sleep more, make sport …, all this will not happen at once. So take your time, make one change at a time and you get there.

Thank you for taking the time to read me, I hope my solutions could help you and don’t hesitate to leave a comment.

So have a good day or a good evening! Stay cool, sexy and see you soon!

  15. I think all makeup should be taken off from the different body parts after the daily routine, especially for the ladies. This will help to limit hyperpigmentation on the face I believe.

    • Thanks for your comment.
When I said to take off the makeup, it’s not
just makeup, it’s all the impurities that the
pores of your skin can absorb during the day. Even if
you dont’t wear makeup, it’s better to take a makeup
remover at night to remove impurities.
      Thanks
